When you use scooter.exchange we collect three categories of data:

• Anonymous usage data — pageviews, referrer, browser type, country (city-level approximate). We use this to understand which pages help users and which don't.
• Location, only when you grant it — used solely to find rental scooters and bikes near you on the map. We never store the lat/lon — it's a request-time parameter only.
• Submitted info if you list a scooter — your email, phone (if provided), name, photos. We use this to forward inquiries from buyers. We never display your contact info publicly. Buyers message you through our system.

• We don't sell your data. Ever.
• We don't run third-party tracking pixels (Facebook, TikTok, etc.) on this site.
• We don't email you unless you opted in (price-alerts) or you submitted a listing requiring follow-up.
• We don't store your credit card — we don't accept payment on this site.

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless. We do not set tracking cookies. We may set a single cookie to remember swipe progress and saved listings — that cookie is set in your browser localStorage, never sent to our server, and you can clear it any time from your browser settings.

If we add Google Analytics or Google AdSense in the future, we will update this policy and add a cookie consent banner for visitors in the EU, UK, California, and other jurisdictions that require it.

Some external links (eBay listing detail pages, partner rental sites) earn us a small commission at no cost to you. This is disclosed in the footer on every page. We don't change our editorial recommendations based on commission rates.

We aggregate publicly-available data from:

• The eBay Browse API (used scooter listings)
• Public GBFS feeds (Lime, Bird, Spin, Veo, Citi Bike, etc.) — only the operator's published vehicle positions, never user trip data
• Google Places API (rental shop directory) — only public business information
• RSS feeds from public news sites (the news ticker)

We never query or aggregate any data that requires user authentication on those services.

You have the right to request deletion of any data you've submitted (listings, contact form messages, email subscriptions). Email contact with your request and we'll process it within 7 days.

EU/UK users: you have the right under GDPR to request a copy of your data. Submit the same way.
